Are you interested in revolutionizing the way people use the phone? Would you like to play a critical role in defining how people interact with everyday devices using the power of voice?

Tellme's User Experience Design group is looking for User Interface Designers across all experience levels. As a designer at Tellme, you'll have the opportunity to shape an experience that spans the mobile phone, web, in-car systems, and other media.

As a designer within Tellme's User Experience Design group, you'll be empowered to:

  • drive the next generation of user interactions (voice/visual/ multimodal)
  • lead projects end-to-end – from requirements to design to refinement with end users
  • Profile consumers to better-understand their mobile communication needs
  • design task flows, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and all related design collateral
  • Interface directly with internal and external clients to advocate creation of the best user experience possible
User experience is at the very core of what makes Tellme great. We're looking for creative, detail-oriented, passionate designers who love working in a highly-collaborativ e, fast-paced environment. You'll be working with other UI designers, product managers, engineers, graphic designers, speech engineers, and external clients to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones.
Tellme was recently acquired by Microsoft and is operating as a fully-owned subsidiary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS or MA/MS in HCI, cognitive science, linguistics or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong interest in the voice user interface and multi-modal design spaces
  • Hands-on interaction design experience
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design processes, including user research
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Visual prototyping skills a plus (experience w/ tools such as Illustrator, HTML, Flash, etc.)
